There are three main states of pumped fluids:

(1) Pure liquid phase fluid

Pure liquid-phase fluid is composed of a single liquid-phase fluid; in the pumping process, it is also a single liquid-phase fluid, which has no inherent shape of its own, can be continuous, automatic filling of the flow channel; its state of motion is also a single liquid-phase fluid flow.

(2) Solid and liquid two-phase fluid

Solid, liquid two-phase fluid is composed of solid particles (particle diameter of at least a few millimeters, large can be more than ten millimeters, or even larger) and liquid (mainly water) of the two phases of the fluid, in the process of pumping, its state of existence is also solid, liquid two-phase fluid, and always keep their respective phases unchanged, in which solid particles to maintain their own shape is unchanged, the main pump is solid particles, water is the carrier The main pumping is solid particles, water is the carrier; its state of motion is the superposition of the flow field of solid particles and the liquid flow field of the two flow fields.

(3) Slurry

Slurry is a special kind of fluid. It is composed of solid powder (powder particle size is very small, so it is called powder and not called particles, and the concentration is very large) and the liquid of the two phases of the fluid, in the composition of the state with the previous (2) is the same. Before entering the pump, the solid powder and liquid must be specially formulated.

For different slurries, differences in slurry properties, especially when the viscosity difference is very large, can affect the design method and cause some differences.

Blue Defender cam rotor pumps can transport high-viscosity slurries.
